Families United (FUN)
Families United is a registered charity in Warrington offering support to local families who have a child or young person with a disability. We unite families so that they find support in each other through shared experiences, strategies and the understanding of the impact that having a child with SEND can have in family life. Families are provided with the opportunity to attend a variety of local activities & trips. In doing so, we aim to increase their health, wellbeing and social opportunities in a safe environment.
Our member families receive support and encouragement through:
- Weekly Sport Works sport & swim sessions held each Sunday at the Woolston Hub
- Monthly & weekly (in the summer holidays) FUN Club held at the much loved Warrington Play & Sensory Centre
- Family Retreat at The puddle Project
- Parent focus activities.
- Ad hoc monthly activities
- HAF Sessions
We are not specific to any one disability and anyone who feels that their child/family would benefit from the group is welcome to become a member and participate. Membership is free, we ask only that you reside within a WA postcode area and have a child or young person with a disability.
Families United is led by 4 trustees, 3 of our trustees whom themselves have a child who has a disability and 1 part time employee.
