Warrington Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Service
Drug and Alcohol support
It is natural for young people to try new things during their teenage years. This is all linked to their brain and physical development as they move towards becoming adults and as they learn about making choices and facing consequences. Most of the time, young people test these boundaries safely and grow up to be responsible adults. Sometimes, however, young people may take risks and may need professional support to get them back on track.
Warrington’s Youth Service is able to offer a range of specialist ‘risky behaviour’ support to young people, giving them the information to make informed choices. Our youth work teams visit all secondary schools in Warrington to offer ‘risky behaviour’ sessions and to talk to young people face-to-face about drugs and alcohol, healthy relationships and making informed choices.
Where a young person needs more specific support with drug and alcohol issues, we have a number trained professionals as part of our Young Person’s Drug and Alcohol Team who can help.
See the gallery from some of our ‘risky behaviour’ work in schools.
Access the Drug and Alcohol Screening Tool to refer to the team for support.
