Autism Spectrum Condition Diagnostic Service

Our Autism Spectrum Condition Diagnostic Service provides autism assessment and diagnosis for adults who do not have a learning disability in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens or Warrington. 

Autism is a disability that affects how someone sees the world, processes information and relates to other people. It affects more than 1 in 100 people in the UK.

We talk about autism as a spectrum condition, as while people with autism share similar characteristics, it affects everyone differently and people with autism will need varying levels of support.

Our team is made up of a range of healthcare professionals including psychologists, mental health nurses, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.

We provide assessment and diagnosis only but will be able to signpost you to other local support services for any needs we identify after diagnosis, with your consent. 

Our service is based at Willis House in Whiston.   

Who is our service for?

Our service is for adults age 16 and over (or 17 and over if you live in Warrington) who feel they may have an autism spectrum condition. Our service is for adults who do not have a learning disability and who are registered with a GP in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington. 

What will happen at your first appointment?

Your first appointment will be a screening appointment to give you information about the assessment process, seek your consent and establish if a full diagnostic assessment is needed.

If we think you would benefit from a full diagnostic assessment, we will then set up a further appointment for you to come back to see us.
